The Hematology/Oncology Division at Roger Williams is committed to quality clinical care with standardized care pathways for most care areas.
From its inception in 2007, we have been part of the Quality Oncology Program Initiative (QOPI) which is a core national quality program implemented by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). In 2010, we were one of the first 35 of 640 groups in the United States to achieve QOPI Certification. This achievement demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ongoing quality improvement in the hematology-oncology outpatient practice with demonstrated achievement of quality goals in more than 80 target areas.
National Certification by QOPI
The Hematology/Oncology Division is one of few practices in the country that received inaugural certification from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). A total of 80 quality metrics in both general and disease- specific modules were evaluated and the group scored highly above national scores with consistently excellent quality outcome results in Colorectal, Breast, Lung and Lymphoma modules. The program undergoes certification evaluations twice a year in fall and spring.
The Hematology/Oncology Oncology Fellowship Program is fully accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and is successfully meeting standards for successful training of Hematology/Oncology Fellows in a 3-year program.
