Hem/Onc Division at Roger Williams re-certified by Quality Oncology Program Initiative
The Hematology/Oncology Division at Roger Williams Medical Center has been re-certified by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI), a core national quality program implemented by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). To receive certification, an oncology practice is evaluated on a total of 80 quality metrics in both general and disease-specific modules. The program, which operates under the direction of Ritesh Rathore, MD, Director of Hematology/ Oncology, is now certified through April 2020.
“The QOPI® Certification recognizes that our center meets nationally recognized standards for cancer care,” said Dr. Rathore. “This certification again reaffirms our continuing commitment to providing patients with excellence in cancer care.”
From its inception in 2007, Roger Williams has been part of QOPI. In 2010, Roger Williams was one of the first 35 of 640 groups in the United States to achieve QOPI Certification. This achievement demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ongoing quality improvement in the hematology/oncology outpatient practice setting with demonstrated achievement of quality goals in multiple cancer types and supportive care areas.
