Our Competitive Advantage
Roger Williams Medical Center has a long history of leadership in cancer diagnosis, treatment and research. Our cancer care is comparable to other leading centers in the country. At the same time, it is delivered with a personal touch.
Under the direction of Dr. N. Joseph Espat, our reputation has only grown. The physicians in our Cancer Center are among the most gifted and well-trained in the country. They work hand-in-hand with our team of caregivers to focus on your cancer treatment and care.
The Hematology/Oncology Division is one of few practices in the country that received inaugural certification from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. We are home to Rhode Island’s only Blood and Marrow Transplant program. Our operating rooms are often home to complicated, groundbreaking cancer surgeries; our laboratories are conducting innovative and unique cancer trials.
Roger Williams is home to medical residency and fellowship programs including a Society of Surgical Oncology Fellowship, which recently received ACGME accreditation as one of the first Complex General Surgical Oncology training programs.
All of this adds up to a Cancer Center team uniquely qualified to help you through the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
